Of the 8 UNESCO world heritage sites in Sri Lanka, 6 are archaelogical sites and they are the (i) sacred city of Anuradhapura, (ii) the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, (iii) the rock fortress of Sigiriya, (iv) the golden rock temple of Dambulla, (v) the sacred city of Kandy and (vi) the Galle Fort located in the South of the Island

Wild Life
The most famous national park in Sri Lanka, Yala is home to 215 bird species and 44 mammal species. Expect to see roaming elephants, herds of sambar deer, crocodiles and buffalo. What's more, the park has the highest concentration of leopards in the world.

Wilpattu National Park is a national park in Sri Lanka. The unique feature of this park is the existence of "Willus" – natural, sand-rimmed water basins or depressions that fill with rainwater

Yala National Park
Yala was designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900, along with Wilpattu, designated in 1938, as the first two designated national parks in Sri Lanka. The park is best known for its variety of wildlife and is important conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards and aquatic birds.

Whale Watching
Whales are generally most active in the morning and late afternoon, making these the best times to spot them. During the morning, whales tend to be more active as they start their day and may feed. As the day progresses and the sun sets, whales become more active as they prepare to rest for the night.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, is a captive breeding and conservation institute for wild Asian elephants located at Pinnawala village, 13 km northeast of Kegalle town in Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka. Pinnawala has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world.
